Review: FS5 Hockey!

by Mr. Ex on October 19th, 2008

Hey all!

Today’s post will be a quick review of a fantastic new game that not only has brought me hours of fun but has actually made me some nice cash! Read on!

The game I am referring to above is called “FS5 Hockey”. It is a fantastic Air Hockey game that works just like the real game, but right off of your iPhone 3G! While there are a few Air Hockey games out there, this is the best one that I have tried and better yet, its FREE!

So how does it play? Really well! Once you boot up the game, it plays exactly like real Air Hockey. You push and hold your paddle and with your finger, move around on the iPhone screen aiming the paddle at the puck. The responsiveness is quite fantastic and the best part, it supports multiplayer both locally on the same phone or via local WiFi. This allows for some seriously fun and competitive play and when you put double digit bets down with your friends, you can make some easy cash….assuming ofcourse that you win!

It is quite difficult to explain just how fun this game is, so go check it out on the AppStore on the iPhone 3G. Just search “Air Hockey” or go to the Top 25 Free apps, of which it is currently #1!

Enjoy!

Already copped it couple of days ago and it has lived up to expectations. I’ve already won a couple of bets using this game :D

  2. bc says:

I agree. it’s especially fun over wifi.

  3. Jan says:

Haven’t tried over wifi yet, but the game play on one player is pretty sweet. The AI could probably be a little more…challenging, but I imagine there is probably a setting for it that I didn’t check out yet. I beat it on whatever default setting it’s on, pretty easily.

  4. Patrick says:

I downloaded this one a few days ago, really fun over wifi… But there’s one small problem with the way it’s coded. In normal air hockey, when you score, the other person gets the puck. In this game, you score, you get the puck.

Even physically, this makes no sense, the puck goes into your end, you start with it. Anyone agree?

  5. Peacock says:

@Patrick, I do agree. I think for the next update they should create an option if there should be possession or not. I think the person who just got scored on should start with the puck as well.
@X1, haven’t heard from you in a while! Great post!
I got this game when it first came out, the wifi is really good. It didn’t lag at all! I’m always checking out the free Top 25. Everyone check out Cameraman! It’s PhotoHunt! I’m sure someone will do a review shortly. If not, well it’s a really cool game!

  6. iPhone Fan says:

Just downloaded this app! 60 FPS on the iPhone is awesome! Great gameplay!

  7. stuffradio says:

The AI is easy, and I can’t ever find anyone on WiFi. Fun game though!

  8. Tim Aucoin says:

Love FS5 Hockey! Haven’t tried wifi yet, but am eager to do so! I agree with the puck possession after scoring, but I got over it! Makes for an interesting twist. I love that we can change the net size! :-)
Going to download Cameraman to see what the hype is about!
    Have a fantastic Monday everyone!
