From the makers of Star Walk comes a new universe exploring experience called Solar Walk!
Solar Walk lets users find out more about nearby planets in our Universe and just like with Star Walk, users can play with the planets to find out more information about them such as speed, time, and various statistics. The app provides a full 3D exploration view of all the planets in the Solar System.
Each planet or view point includes a small “i” or info button where users can learn general information, the planet name, its mass, radius, distance to the sun, and even the planets internal structure with the picture and science missions.

The app provides stunningly rendered graphics and animations that allow users to see more planet details such as clouds, lakes, mountains, and oceans. Users can further zoom in and out of the 3D models and also view the position of planets at a specific time in either the past or the future.
Solar Walk also features a function called “Time Machine”. Time Machine allows users to view planets, and generally the whole Solar System, by being able to view the time and date of a specific planet or point of interest. Tapping the year field, month and time, and changing the fields, the display will adapt accordingly to show users how planets were aligned at that point in time. This feature is rather neat when you jump into the future.
If you enjoyed Star Walk, Solar Walk is a fantastic companion. Solar Walk is available in the App Store for $2.99.
