Waterfield Designs: Laptop SleeveCase Review

One of the first accessories we look for after buying our latest toy, whether it be a cell phone or laptop, is a lightweight and sturdy protective case. Recently when I bought my 13″ MacBook, I went on the hunt for a case that would protect it when I took it on the road, but at the same time didn’t make it feel like I was carrying a small child with me.

Waterfield Designs makes cases and sleeves for iPhones, iPods, MacBooks, and more. The bag I received was the Laptop SleeveCase. The first thing that struck me about the SleeveCase was the amazing quality.  It feels like a well built case that will last for years, something which cannot be said about some of the other sleeve style cases on the market.

The other thing was how small and light it was.  Once my MacBook was inside, I can easily put in my backpack, or any other bag, and still have space for other things. You’re probably thinking that if it’s that small, it probably doesn’t provide much protection.  Not at all! You have to remember it isn’t a hard case, so I’m not going to be driving my car over it, but it provides more than enough protection when taking your laptop on the road.

One feature that I really appreciated that is a testament to their quality and detail, something that many other companies forget about, was the small pull tab at the bottom of the SleeveCase, which allows for easy removal of your laptop. Often when you put your laptop into a sleeve style case, you battle to get your laptop out of there once it is inside. With this feature, taking out your laptop is a breeze.

The review unit that I received did not come with a flap to cover the top of the sleeve. This is an optional feature of the SleeveCase, and leaves the top part of your laptop a little exposed.  If I were to buy another one, it is definitely a feature I would pick.  You can get your SleeveCase from Waterfield Designs starting at only $39!

Do you have a Waterfield Designs case for your iPhone or MacBook? What do you think of the quality?
