I have been using Categories since its BETA stages and its a great app. You do get the odd crash of springboard here and there, but thats jailbreaking and playing around with files.
Some themes recommend it in order to have your springboard all fancy and other times I do not like to use it so I can see all my apps lol

Good review dude!

Yes, I've seen some of these issues before, when I used it on my 1st gen iPhone, but I must say, Categories works pretty smooth on the 3GS.

Tried it before, it's not that great. It crashes a lot, its a pain trying to delete the apps, and theres a lag time between your home screen and opening the folder that couldve been bypassed by just swiping screens. Sometimes it'll glitch and a ghost app will be left behind if you uninstall that app or categories. Oh yeah, vertically arranging them. It should be how Apple made moving icons over. 1/5 for me.
