Make Your iPhone Look Like an iPad

Since the announcement of Apple’s iPad, there have been a few new themes pop up in Cydia, emulating the look of the iPad’s UI. This isn’t much of a stretch, as the iPad UI is very similar to that of the iPhone and iPod Touch. With some subtle changes to the wallpaper, lockscreen, and dock, you’ve got a mini iPad in your hands.

This should go without saying, but in order to change the theme of your iPhone or iPod Touch, you’ll need to have it jailbroken, with Cydia and Winterboard installed. Open Cydia, and tap the search button on the bottom. Type “iPad”. You should see a few themes on the list. Pick the one you like, but may I suggest the one I created, called “Simple iPad Theme”. It is under the ModMyi repository. Download it, then apply it in Winterboard. When your device resprings, it should look something like this:

So, that looks pretty good, right? Well, you can go one step further. Remember the hack that Dusty reviewed, called “Shrink“? We can use this to really make your device look like the iPad.

If you have Shrink installed, go into Settings -> Shrink -> Icon Size, and tap 75%. Go back one page, and tap “Respring”. Now you should have a mini iPad!
