I thought it might be worth mentioning an app that will help you find free WiFi near you. Take a look at â€œ Free WiFi Finder â€œ. This app is free, in the App Store. When you open it up, it automatically looks for your location, and displays free WiFi spots near you.

I don't think calgary airport has free wifi. You connect to the wifi network at the calgary airport and then it takes you to a page (boingo hotspot i believe was the provider). Then you can choose among a number of payment options to get your wifi going.

Maybe there was some fine print that you could do something to get “free” but it wasn't super obvious. And super obvious is what I like for my free stuff

I know many who didn't even have Edge… myself included. But of course, if you had Edge, it would be very useful.

3G may have failed but Edge (2G) didn't. So one could still have used this app to find a wifi hotspot.

“With all the issues with Rogers over the past week”… this app would be pointless in that situation as you need a 3G or WiFi connection for it to work

However, it looks pretty good if you just want to quickly log on and locate some free Wifi.

Seems like a handy app for those times u need to save data or when WIFI is needed! Good post m8.
