Apple Watch Gets Larger Sport Band, Link Bracelet Kit, 38mm Modern Buckle

New accessories for the Apple Watch have just hit the company’s online store (err, integrated store), each making the product a viable option for individuals with wrists larger than 215mm (the previous largest strap being the 42mm Classic Buckle), plus those wanting a 38mm Modern Buckle.

First up, the popular (and relatively inexpensive) Sport Bands are being offered in both Black and White in a new L/XL size. Previously, between the S/M and M/L bands, the Sport Band fit 140-210mm, but with the L/XL option, that expands to 245mm, available for $69 CAD.

A new $69 CAD Link Bracelet Kit has also been released, and includes six additional links for Apple’s insanely gorgeous (and expensive) Link Bracelet. The standard Link Bracelet is designed for wrists 140-205mm, but expands to 245mm with the kit.

I have more than a few interested friends who have tried on my Apple Watch (even with the M/L Sport Band installed) only to find the band far too small to even close. With this release, Apple has opened the floodgates to those with larger wrists, and I can only imagine that even more band options will follow.

Also available for sale for the first time is the 38mm Modern Buckle Band, priced at $329 CAD, available in small, medium and large wrists, with brown, black, pink or blue colour options. Availability is listed at 1-2 weeks.

Earlier today, Best Buy Canada launched sales of Apple Watch at select stores and online.

Do you know anyone with a wrist previously too large for the Apple Watch? Will they be buying now that the range has been expanded? Sound off below!
