Ultrasn0w Updated To 1.1-1, Improves Battery Life

iPhone owners who recently unlocked their iPhone with the latest version of Ultrasn0w may have been experiencing a sudden decrease in battery life.

The battery levels have been so severe in some cases that some users have reported battery levels dropping an average of 5% every hour.

By jailbreaking your iPhone, Ultrasn0w 1.0-1 is the tool that unlocks the device, whether it be iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, or iPhone 3G and allows users to use their iPhone with any wireless carrier.

At this time, Ultrasn0w can unlock:

  • iPhone 4 running iOS 4.0 or 4.0.1
  • iPhone 3G, 3GS with base band 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01 or 05.13.04

To solve some of the Ultrasn0w related battery problems, Planetbeing, a member of the iPhone Dev Team, began to investigate the claims in order to come up with a solution.

The solution has been an updated version of Ultrasn0w to version 1.1-1.

Ultrasn0w 1.1-1 can be installed from Cydia by iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 users to unlock their iPhone on iOS 3.0 or earlier (up to iOS 4.0.1).

Here are the steps to install Ultrasn0w on your jailbroken iPhone:

1.) Launch Cydia

2.) Add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia.

3.) Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in Cydia and install ultrasn0w. This should successfully unlock your iPhone.

If you’ve already installed Ultrasn0w, then launch Cydia and tap on changes to install the updated version.
