FetalBeats Heart Rate Monitor: Listen to your Baby’s Heartbeat via iPhone [Video Review]

Pregnancy is a special time, but it can also be very stressful over the course of the nine months. A Canadian made product can help alleviate some of the concerns and fears.

It’s called FetalBeats. It’s your own personal fetal heartbeat monitor that works with your iOS devices. Hearing your unborn child’s heartbeat for the first time is one of the biggest and most unforgettable milestones during a pregnancy.

But often it’s a moment you share with your doctor and not with those you love.  With FetalBeats you not only hear those precious sounds any time you want, you can record it and share it with friends and family so they too can share in the joy. Before I get into more detail here, why not watch my video review where I go over how easy it is to use and give you a look at the FetalBeats in action.

The FetalBeats app is free in the App Store and the monitoring system costs $150. You can buy it right from the app itself, order it from the FetalBeats website, or you may see it at various stores specializing in baby items.

Along with the monitor you get the ultrasound gel, all the cables and other needed accessories and a little speaker. You even get a nice little carrying case that everything fits into when you’re not using it. It also lets you take the monitor with you anywhere you go.

Setup takes no time and the instructions are really simple to use. To record the heartbeat, all you do is plug one end into the headphone jack of your iOS device – oh, and make sure you’ve downloaded the FetalBeats app.

The app itself is easy to navigate. You can even customize it a little bit to your liking by adding your name, the baby’s due date and their name or nickname.

Using the monitor is simple. You apply some of the gel to your stomach, and a little to the monitor as demonstrated in the video review, and then it’s as simple as moving the monitor around until you hear the heartbeat. Depending how far along you are into the pregnancy, the baby’s position and other factors, it can be tough to hear the heartbeat at times. You can keep trying or try again at a later time.

FetalBeats does remind you, this product does not replace your physician. Make sure you’re still going to your regular appointments.

What this offers you is some peace of mind and a chance to share your unborn child’s heartbeat with friends and family because the sounds are recorded right onto your iOS device.

Even better, it’s a Canadian produced and assembled product.
