The City of Toronto has launched a dedicated 311 Toronto app for iPhone and Android users, offering residents the ability to request from over 600 city services, everyday of the year 24/7.

“Use the app to make requests for more than 600 different services including Animal Services, Bylaw Violations, Service Complaints, Graffiti Removal, Noise Complaints, Road Maintenance and Traffic Safety, Tree Maintenance, Waste Collection, Water and Sewer Services and Winter Maintenance and more,” reads the App Store description.

The app uses your phone’s location when you need to report a problem, plus also lets you attach a picture to show what’s happening. Residents can track their service requests and get updates by text message or email. The app also allows residents to reschedule or cancel appointments for select services.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for residents to access 311 Toronto. The new 311 Toronto app brings all of the great features of the new and very successful 311 web platform directly to your smartphone. It has never been easier to access 311, your gateway to City services and programs,” said Mayor John Tory in a statement.

311 Toronto offers a live agent chat function to chat with a human, while a map feature lets you see open requests for services within 8km of your location.

The city says last year, 311 Toronto handled 1,346,077 interactions via phone, email, web and social media, fulfilling 414,591 service requests.
