Action Movie FX is an app that let’s you add cool CG movie effects to your own videos. It comes from JJ Abrams and Bad Robot Interactive. You film a short clip of what ever you want, then add the built in effects to create a realistic looking scene from a movie. The app comes with 4 effects, and you can get more via in-app purchase. They have just updated the app, adding 2 new effects packs, and one new free effect

This is app is really fun. Depending on the lighting of your footage, the effects blend in really well. It works best when you’re holding your iDevice absolutely still, so I would recommend using a tripod or something to do your filming. Once you video is finished, you can upload to Facebook, email the video, or save it to your camera roll and share it how ever you want.
Action Movie FX is for iPad, iPhone 3GS and newer, and iPod TOuch 4th gen. It requires iOS 4.3 or newer. You can get in the App Store now, for free.
