Amazon Canada’s iOS app now supports Touch ID for prompts that require your sign-in and also for making purchases. The update appears to have arrived quietly as the app’s description doesn’t mention anything specifically about Touch ID support. The Amazon app in Canada does differ slightly from the U.S. app, such as being able to search with your voice.
We use the Amazon iOS app frequently and the prompt for Touch ID this morning definitely caught us by surprise, as normally we’d have to launch 1Password, copy our password, jump back to the app and paste it in (this can be avoided if you want to use Amazon in Safari, given 1Password’s extension support).
