CIBC has launched a new iOS app this morning called Hello Home, which aims to make completing mortgage applications easier, straight from your iPhone from start to finish.
The app allows users to apply, negotiate and receive approval of their mortgage right from their iPhone, plus use their device’s camera to snap images of documents to submit securely to CIBC. It has secure chat with a mortgage specialist built into app, for real-time communication. Users can track the status of their mortgage every step of the way right from within the app.

“CIBC is at the forefront of developing and implementing mobile-driven solutions that address the clear shift in how Canadians access banking services,” says Aayaz Pira, Vice-President, Digital Channels, CIBC.
Just last week, along with RBC, CIBC was one of the first banks to launch support for Apple Pay.
The app was developed at Live Labs, the financial institution’s tech and innovation hub located at the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto. The bank is calling Hello Home the first of its kind in Canada.
This is brilliant idea, as there’s nothing more dreadful than visiting a branch and dealing with humans to apply for a mortgage. To be able to apply for one straight from your iPhone in an easy-to-use app is genius.
