Google Gboard for iOS Launches Customized Stickers Based on Your Selfie
Google’s Gboard keyboard for iOS has been updated to let users create their own customized stickers, based on their own photo, similar to Apple’s Memojis on iPhone X and customized Bitmojis within Snapchat.
The new stickers feature is accessible within the Gboard iOS app, which lets users take a selfie of themselves, then have the photo applied to a variety of sticker packs. You’ll be able to customize a variety of facial features, which then can be applied to a list of different stickers available:
Once you tap on a customized sticker of yourself, the iOS share sheet pops up to let you share it within iMessage. Unfortunately, there is no Gboard iMessage app yet, so the integration is less than preferred for people who want to use this, unlike existing Memoji and Bitmoji iMessage extensions, which allows for quick sharing in chats.
Today’s Gboard update also adds language support for Estonian and Zulu.
