Earlier this month, Google announced as part of its G Suite rebranding to Google Workspace, new icons would debut for Gmail, Drive, Calendar and Meet.
On Sunday, Google unleashed the new Gmail icon for iPhone and iPad users with version 6.0.201004 of the app in the App Store.
“Thanks for using Gmail! This release brings you a new Gmail icon and bug fixes that improve our product to help you do more in one place,” explains the app description update.
For longtime Gmail users, you’ll have to take a day or so to get used to seeing the new updated icon on your iPhone or iPad home screen. When you launch the updated Gmail for the first time on iOS, a short animation will also display in the search field of the app.
