Netflix for iOS Bringing Double-Tap Skip/Rewind, New Volume Slider at the Top

Netflix for iOS is rolling out an update to offer improved controls to skip and reverse, plus more streamlined volume indicators.

According to a user on Reddit, the Netflix iOS app is set to gain on-screen double-tap skip and reverse functionality, along with a volume slider that now resides at the top of the screen, instead of blocking content with an overlay.

These new features are reminiscent of recent updates to the YouTube iOS app offering the same functionality, while other apps such as Snapchat and Instagram also have volume sliders at the top.

Apple’s existing volume indicator in some apps overlays over the centre of the display and is a travesty when watching videos, since it takes too long to disappear, hiding content.

As of writing, the Netflix iOS update isn’t available yet, but we’re assuming this update should be rolling out in the next day or so.
