Paytm Canada is currently offering a promo for new users, offering a free $10 gift card when new sign-ups download their iOS or Android app.
Users will get 10,000 bonus points, which is the equivalent of $10, which can be applied towards a reward from over 75 brands including Amazon, Starbucks, iTunes, Lululemon, Banana Republic, Gap, Uber, Tim Hortons and more.
The Paytm iOS app is also now the number one free app in the App Store Finance category, ahead of TD Canada and RBC, a major milestone reached, according to the company.
Paytm tells iPhone in Canada the company has seen over 500 million lifetime Paytm Points collected by Canadians, who have also made total bill payments of over $100 million CAD.
Naqiyah Rampuri, Director, Growth Strategy, Paytm, told iPhone in Canada in an interview, “The Paytm Canada app is proof that Canadians are looking for more convenient ways to pay their bills.”
Paytm says their app allows Canadians to ‘double dip’ when paying bills, as they can get points from their credit card plus collect Paytm Points. The app has thousands of service providers, allowing for payment of utilities, tax bills, wireless bills and more with a credit card.
“The ability to provide Canadians with a choice of which payment method that they can use to pay their bills, and to be able to collect Paytm Points that do not conflict with any other loyalty rewards system, allows you to understand why we are currently the fastest growing app in Canada,” added Rampuri.
