Customers will be able to redeem points at the rate of $10 for every 10,000 points accumulated (updated) at store such as Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills, Joe Fresh and Shoppers Drug Mart. Some Shoppers and Pharmaprix stores in Quebec will get to earn 15 points for every $1 spent on eligible products.

The new PC Optimum iPhone app supports iPhone X and also Apple’s Wallet app, so you can load it quickly at check out. The new app also includes personalized offers, a store locator and flyers.

How to merge your existing points into the new PC Optimum program? You first need to create a PC Optimum account “PC id”, then you’ll find options to link your old PC Plus, Optimum or PC Financial Mastercard, with an option to link others later.

Next, you’ll be asked to verify your request via email and once complete, you should see your new points balance. Your old points will have moved to the new program at equal value. Any customers who used their Shoppers Optimum card between January 30-31 won’t see their points reflected, but will be updated no later by February 28.

You most likely won’t be successful in transferring your points over today—PC Optimum says the high volume is overwhelming the system. The following message “our apologies, an unknown error has occurred,” will show when you click submit (we can confirm the system is overwhelmed).
