Polamatic: Shake It Like a Polaroid Picture [Review]

Pictures taken in Polamatic ooze nostalgia as they mimic the look of ones taken on a Polaroid camera. When I saw my pictures “develop” I was reminded of all those times I watched a real Polaroid picture slowly appear in my hand.

There are a lot of borders and filters to choose from

Polamatic is exactly what you’d expect from a camera app. You can add filters, borders and text, along with the option to adjust brightness, contrast, etc. Additionally, you can import photos from your Photos app and export them to social media, Photos or into another photo editing app. There’s also a store where you can purchase more borders and filters.

The editing tools Polamatic has to make my pictures look like old Polaroids work great. The amount of filters and borders for me to choose from are also greater than models of Polaroid cameras. However, I don’t remember seeing coloured Polaroid paper (borders) such as red and blue in real life, which makes them feel not as authentic and out of place. I do like the first border option as it looks like a clean crisp Polaroid, what we all remember.
