Are you interested in saving money? If so, ShopWise – this week’s Editors’ Choice app in the Canadian App Store – is a great app that will help you find deals and coupons on products in your area and online.
When you open ShopWise, you’ll see the featured deals and coupons. You can then favourite those deals, coupons or the stores there from, which will add them to your My Stuff tab, so you can view them later.
You have a few options when searching for more savings. You can use the Nearby tab that uses your location to show the deals in your area on a map or in a list. Also, you can drag the map to different locations, and redo the search. Your searches can then be refined to only show deals on particular types of products, such as apparel and entertainment. Another way is to use the Find tab, and search for deals, products or stores using keywords and categories.
I didn’t like the Deal Alert feature, because it kept the Location Services active on my iPhone, used my data and didn’t work all that well. It could find me deals at restaurants, but not much else. Also, I don’t understand the Passbook integration. I have the option of adding a description of a deal or coupon to Passbook, but nothing I can use when I reach a physical cash register. That aside, I was able to find deals from many stores and websites, and its intuitive UI made browsing and finding more deals easy.
With all the Christmans shopping to be done, you should definitely give ShopWise a try, and maybe it will help you save some money. You can download ShopWise free from the App Store here. Then let us know what you think of it, or tell us about the app you use to find deals and coupons.
