Starbucks Canada for iPhone Gets Apple Watch App, In-App Gifting and Inbox

Earlier today we told you about the new digital tipping option available to Starbucks iPhone users in Canada. Today, Starbucks has officially made the announcement in their app’s iTunes description and also has announced Apple Watch support for their app.

The Starbucks Apple Watch app will be able to locate the store nearest you, view your Stars and available Rewards and pay for food and drinks with Passbook or your Starbucks card number.

What’s New in Version 3.2.5

Apple Watch: Many of the same features you love about your iPhone app are now available on your wrist (where available).

Locate the nearest Starbucks store and view amenities
View Stars and available Reward(s)
Pay for your favorite beverage and food items with Passbook or your Starbucks card number

Digital tipping: Now available to our Canadian customers!
You’re welcome to tip your barista after your purchase at select stores in Canada. This option is available for up to two hours following eligible transactions.

Gift: Want to send a Starbucks gift card to someone special? In-app gifting is now available in Canada and the United Kingdom.

This release provides additional stability to Mobile Order & Pay (where available).

Coming soon: Inbox in Canada and the United Kingdom, and continuous enhancement to the Mobile Order & Pay experience.

This version also allows Canadians to gift Starbucks cards within the app. Starbucks says upcoming versions of the app will bring Inbox, which allows the company to send you messages (now it looks like you can download free app and songs of the week here), while more enhancements are on their way for Mobile Order & Pay, set to debut here soon as well.

The Gift option is front and centre along the top menu and allows you to choose the card you want and purchase right away within the app (this Gift option shows in the menu, but nothing loads for us):
