WhatsApp iOS Update Now Lets Siri Send Messages to Group Chats

WhatsApp for iOS was updated yesterday to allow users to send messages with Apple’s Siri assistant to group chats, whereas an update last year only limited this feature to individual chats.

All you need to do is say something like “Hey Siri, send a message to [title of group chat] on WhatsApp [your message],” and it’ll then ask you for confirmation to send it, as shown below:

Also, a future update of WhatsApp for iOS will bring notification extension support for media, so you can see GIFs and other media in notifications, according to WABetaInfo. This feature was supposed to be in WhatsApp for iOS version 2.18.80, but it appears to be still in testing and will make its debut in a future update.

If you’re using WhatsApp and are part of group chats, the ability to send a message with Siri may be helpful if you don’t have fingers available to type your message.
