Apple Posts iCloud Transition FAQ

In my continued search to find out more information about what will happen to my precious MobileMe account and online data, Apple has now posted an updated page answering many of the questions that users have been asking.

If you have had concerns about the migration from MobileMe to iCloud, this webpage explains which existing MobileMe services will be present in iCloud and which are being expired.

According to the webpage, it looks like Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks, Find My iPhone, and Back To My Mac will be available in iCloud. These six apps will join the new iCloud-specific services iTunes in the Cloud, Photo Stream, Documents in the Cloud, Automatic downloads and purchase history for apps and books, and Backup and restore.

However, existing MobileMe services such as iDisk, Gallery, Mac-based sync services, and iWeb published websites are supported until June 30 2012. When iCloud kicks in, the former services are gone.

The webpage also confirms that iCloud features will be accessible from a web browser this fall when the service launches.
