First Apple Event of 2021 May Take Place March 23, According to Leaker

In previous years, Apple has been adamant in hosting a spring event in the month of March to formally announce select new products for the year. It would appear as though the company will be holding its first event of 2021 on March 23rd, according to a credible leaker.

As reported by MacRumors, a credible leaker who’s known as “Kang” has said that Apple’s March event will take place on March 23rd. This news first stemmed from a tweet from DuanRui, which also stated that Kang believes the event will be held on the same day as the OnePlus 9 product launch event.

Given the numerous reports of potential products, it’s likely that the March event will be used to showcase this year’s new iPad, featuring a mini-LED display and possibly the AirPods 3 with a revamped design. We may also finally see the long-rumoured Tile competitor that has been reported to be in development, the AirTags.

The date of March 23rd does line up with the fact that Apple nearly exclusively hosts its events on a Tuesday. However, there is still the possibility that the event could land on March 30th. Last month, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman dismissed the idea that Apple may hold the event on March 16th.

Given the global circumstances, Apple will likely host an all-digital event. Like other events in the past, once announced, the event will be livestreamed on Apple’s official channels on social media and its own YouTube channel. Apart from a rumoured date, there has not been any word on the length or the time the event is expected to take place.
