Apple Music to Livestream Kanye West’s New Album ‘Donda’ on July 22

Apple Music will be hosting a livestream premiere event of Kanye West’s anticipated tenth album ‘Donda’ on July 22.

Apple and Kanye West announced the event via a Beats Studio Buds ad that played last night during the NBA Finals. The ad starred U.S. track star Sha’Carri Richardson training at night while the track ‘No Child Left Behind’, one of West’s new songs, played. Richardson was recently banned from competing in the Tokyo Olympic Games due to a positive test for THC.

The ad itself was scored by West, naturally. It was also edited by the artist. The album’s name ‘Donda’ is in reference to West’s late mother. This album comes only two years after the release of ‘Jesus is King’.

The event is set to take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, and is sold out. The Apple Music‌ livestream will begin at 8:00 PM ET on Thursday night. Following the livestreamed event, West’s tenth album will release on Friday, July 23rd, confirmed Def Jam Recordings.

In the past, Apple has held livestreamed events. In 2016, the company held a concert for The 1975. Though, more recently, Apple TV+ held a livestream event for the ‘Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry’ documentary in February.
