Epic Games Says Apple has Paused Plans to Terminate Apple ID Logins For Epic’s Games

Epic Games has said that Apple has paused its plans to terminate support for its ‘Sign in with Apple’ login feature for any user’s attempting to log into the developer’s apps. The termination was initially posed to begin on September 11th.

On Twitter, Epic Games informed its audience that Apple has the ‘Sign in with Apple’ option, found in many of Epic’s games would be removed as the fight between Apple and Epic continued. Apple had originally planned to remove the option for players to sign into Epic’s apps using their Apple ID as soon as September 11th. However, a follow-up tweet from Epic said that Apple would be providing an “indefinite extension”.

Although the extension is in place, Epic still urges its players to update emails and passwords in preparations of when Apple does effectively remove the Apple ID option.  In order to ensure you will be able to log into your Epic Game’s account in the future, it’s best to update your information. By going into ‘General Settings’ on the Epic Games’ site, you’ll be able to update your email account and password.

While Epic Games may be able to “recover your account manually,” there’s no guarantee. Once the Apple ID sign-in option is removed, you’ll have to contact the company directly in order to recover your Epic Games account.

There’s currently no word on when Apple will terminate support.
