Apple TV+’s ‘Ted Lasso’ Earns Four Awards at Inaugural Hollywood Critics Association Television Awards

Apple TV+ original series ‘Ted Lasso’ walked away with the most awards won during the inaugural Hollywood Critics Association Television Awards this weekend. Ted Lasso won a total of four awards, including ‘Best Streaming Series, Comedy.’

Ted Lasso, which stars Jason Sudekis, Brendan Hunt, Hannah Waddingham, and Juno Temple has received a lot of critical reception since its first season debuted in 2020. Apple now adds even more accolades under its belt as Ted Lasso won the following four awards at Hollywood Critics Association Television Awards:

  • Best Streaming Series, Comedy — “Ted Lasso”
  • Best Actor in a Streaming Series, Comedy  — Jason Sudeikis – “Ted Lasso”
  • Best Supporting Actor in a Streaming Series, Comedy — Brett Goldstein – “Ted Lasso”
  • Best Supporting Actress in a Streaming Series, Comedy — Hannah Waddingham – “Ted Lasso”

In addition to Ted Lasso winning four awards for Apple, Rupert Grint from ‘Servant’, the thriller-drama series produced by M. Night Shyamalan, received the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Streaming Series, Drama.

Apple has been steadily receiving more and more awards, mainly thanks to Ted Lasso which has become a breakout hit for the expanding Apple TV+ streaming service. Last month, Apple received 35 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, 20 of which were for Ted Lasso. The number of nominations received broke records as Ted Lasso became the most nominated comedy series in 2021, and the most nominated freshman comedy series ever.
