Some Bell TV Channels Suffer Outage, Blamed on Power Outages

According to Bell, some of their TV channels are experiencing technical difficulties, because of a power outage at one of its facilities.

Bell said this afternoon, “We are currently experiencing technical difficulties for some of our channels resulting from a power outage at our Agincourt facility. We are working to restore service as soon as possible.”

The company also noted CTV and CTV2 stations were also down, similarly blamed on a power outage.

“We experienced a power outage at our broadcast facility in Scarborough tonight affecting local CTV and CTV2 stations east of Winnipeg & our specialty channels. Websites and digital services were also impacted. Power has been restored & the return of broadcasting is expected soon,” said Bell.

Lots of angry customers replied to its tweet, with concerns ranging from demands for compensation and also what redundancy measures are put in place by the company.

Are you experiencing any outages right now with Bell? While an outage is definitely inconvenient, at least Bell is acknowledging the issue online and letting customers know about it in public tweets, and not hidden private direct messages like Rogers.
