MTS has announced today the launch of 4G HSPA service to Churchill, one of six areas to get the service in 2014.
“This is great news for Churchill, and I’d like to thank MTS for the continual investment in our community,” said Churchill Mayor Michael Spence. “Churchill is an international destination and the launch of this wireless service is another great feature to add to our community.”
The carrier says 4G HSPA service is also available in Snow Lake and Ebb & Flow First Nation, while Bissett, Fisher River First Nation and Middlebro will also get service in the coming weeks. MTS says over 4,000 people living and working in these communities will get access to the faster wireless service, now up to five times faster than the old CDMA network.
Coverage maps have yet to be updated on the MTS website, but expect them soon.
