MTS Launches 4G LTE Network in Grandview

MTS has announced customers in Grandview now have access to the faster 4G LTE network, part of ongoing expansions throughout the year, already reaching 15 rural Manitoba communities this year.

“I’m pleased that another Manitoba community will now enjoy the benefits that MTS’s fastest wireless network has to offer,” said MTS President Kelvin Shepherd. “LTE offers data speeds that are significantly faster than the current HSPA+ technology, ensuring customers enjoy their new LTE smartphones to the fullest.”

Currently, the MTS 4G LTE network reaches over 850,000 people in the province, with the most recent addition prior to Grandview being Pilot Mound from last week. Winnipeg and Brandon debuted LTE first in 2012, followed by Victoria Beach, Grand Beach, Portage la Prairie, Selkirk, Steinbach, Ste. Anne, Dauphin, Falcon Lake, Jessica Lake, West Hawk Lake, Gimli, Hecla, Altona, Winkler, Thompson, Morden, Swan River, Carman, and Flin Flon since then.

Over the next five years, MTS says its LTE expansion plans will reach over 90 percent of the population.
