MTS, Rogers Launch 4G LTE Network in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba

MTS announced yesterday its 4G LTE network has launched in Portage la Prairie in Manitoba, making it the third of six communities set to receive the faster wireless network in 2013.

“MTS is committed to bringing today’s most advanced wireless technologies to more Manitobans in 2013,” said MTS President Kelvin Shepherd.  “Portage la Prairie is the latest community to benefit from MTS’s 4G LTE Wireless Network – our fastest network yet.”

MTS first launched LTE in the province back in 2012 in Winnipeg and Brandon, with existing service available in Victoria Beach and Grand Beach. Selkirk, Steinbach, and Ste. Anne will eventually receive LTE networks later this year.

Both MTS and Rogers have a network sharing agreement for Manitoba, so the launch in Portage la Prairie is also available for Rogers customers.
