BREAKING: Upgrade to Rogers iPhone 3G; Get $100 off

This just in:

We are getting unconfirmed reports that Rogers Wireless is discounting iPhone 3G’s up to $100 on Hardware Upgrades!

How to get it

If you are:

1.) A Rogers Wireless Customer with a VOICE plan of $30.01 or higher

2.) Are not using a “Smartphone” that was purchased through Rogers (so if you bought an iPhone 3G in USA and are using it on Rogers, you are okay)

3.) Do NOT have data plan of any kind purchased through Rogers

4.) Are eligible to upgrade (12 months since last upgrade or since you got your phone without any upgrades done)

If you meet the above four requirements (so just have a voice plan, no data, be eligible to upgrade, and have no “officially” purchased Rogers “Smartphone”), you may be eligible to get an iPhone 3G 8GB for $149.99 or an iPhone 3G 16GB for $249.99. (Prices only occur if your VOICE plan is more than $30.01. If it is less, than you pay $50 more. So 8GB = $199.99, 16GB = $299.99).

The Breakdown

On the invoice for an 8GB:

$249.99, less the $50 rebate for having a plan that is $30.01 or higher, then less an additional $50 for the promo = $149.99. Regular promo price is $199.99.

On the invoice for an 16GB:

$349.99, less the $50 rebate for having a plan that is $30.01 or higher, then less an additional $50 for the promo = $249.99. Regular promo price is $299.99.

You will have to renew your contract for 3 years but you do not have to add a data plan of any kind (monthly or yearly). Just a straight upgrade and renewal of your existing wireless voice plan.

Once again, this is NOT confirmed but there have been a few reports coming in. Also, we have no word on FIDO about this.

What do you think? Grab the iPhone 3G now at a discount…or wait for the possible new iPhone this summer?

Thoughts or experiences, post below!
