Rogers 8GB iPhone 3GS = Most Likely FALSE

Happy Monday everyone. Let’s get started with our Monday iPhone Rumor of the day!

Do you have an iPhone 3GS? We all know by now that there are two choice for capacity with the new 3GS: 16GB and 32GB. However, the Rogers website seems to have had a mind on its own and is currently displaying “8GB” as an option for the iPhone 3GS! This shows up under the column where it says “iPhone Comparison“.

When I first read about this story on MacRumors, I was pretty sure that the rumor of an 8GB iPhone 3GS was not going to be true. Firstly, Apple usually increases the hard drive capacity of their iPhones/iPods, and introducing an 8GB model is like taking a step backwards. This doesn’t happen in Apple-ville.

Secondly, knowing how amazing it is to be a customer of Rogers Wireless in Canada (Fido too), I guarantee there is a 99% chance that the “8GB” image in the iPhone 3GS column is just Photoshop job gone bad. The iPhone comparison chart on the Rogers website was clearly made in-house and not by Apple. Someone obviously didn’t do their homework (or decided to play a prank) and threw in the 8GB option for giggles.

Apple Would Never Let Another Company Introduce a New Product–Ever!

Do you really think Apple would leave it up to Rogers to introduce a 8GB iPhone 3GS? Even if it was true, Cupertino would have most likely asked Rogers to take down their 8GB image in the 3GS column. So there you have it folks, rest assured an 8GB iPhone 3GS is not coming our way. This rumor will never come into fruition–mark my words!

Do you think an 8GB iPhone 3GS is imminent?
