Rogers for Business Debuts Managed Wireless Private Networks Solution

Wireless private networks rogers

Rogers has launched a managed Wireless Private Networks solution for business customers.

A WPN allows enterprise customers in mining, oil and gas sectors, for example, to have their own on-site wireless network to “securely connect devices to their network, prioritize network traffic, control sensitive data, and run business applications.”

“With Canadian businesses on the lookout for the next competitive edge, Wireless Private Networks offer an agile solution that provides reliable and secure network connectivity over large, multi-site areas,” said Dean Prevost, President, Connected Home and Rogers for Business, in an issued statement.

“Rogers for Business is proud to partner with technology leaders including Ericsson, Expeto, and Cradlepoint to launch this new ‘Enterprise First’ service to business customers,” added Prevost.

Rogers says it is the first wireless carrier to launch a managed WPN solution for the enterprise, seen as a cost-effective way to connect employee smartphones, Internet of Things (IoT), robots, autonomous vehicles and more, setting the stage for companies to adopt 5G technology, explains the company.
