Rogers Ignite Price Increase: Bundles Going Up $6 Per Month During COVID-19

Rogers Ignite prices are increasing for customers with bundles, as an increase is coming in October by $6 per month.

According to an email sent out by Rogers to customers (via MobileSyrup), the company details the change is coming “on the date of your first bill after October 19, 2020.”

“Your Ignite Bundle will increase by $6 plus taxes,” reads the Rogers email. The company adds, “if you currently have a discount off your monthly rate, this discount will still apply to the new rate until your promotional period ends.”

As expected, customers who received this notice weren’t happy about the change. One furious customer said on Twitter, “@Rogers so my ignite is going up 72$$ a year 3% increase and what added service speed or benefit do we get ZERO! A pretty hefty price increase when people have no job and are struggling to make ends meet. I guess #rogers is recouping all the “help” they provided during COViD”.

The @RogersHelps account responded, “Hello, we’re always working to deliver a dependable service for your home. While we try to minimize price increases for our customers, as part of this work, we occasionally make changes to our plans, pricing, and packages.”

Rogers noted in its email, “this change is made in accordance with the CRTC Internet and Television Service Provider Codes.”
