According to iPhone in Canada reader Rob, he noted Rogers mentioned the fee increase on his most recent January 2021 bill, with a section titled “fee increase for Rogers Value Packs.”
Rogers says “to deliver worry-free and reliable network experiences, we regularly review and adjust our pricing. While we try to minimize the impact on our customers, your value pack’s monthly service fee for this line as shown on this bill will increase by $3 per month plus taxes starting on the date of your first bill on or after February 9, 2021.”
The wireless company says other services won’t see a price increase and that the change “is made in accordance with the CRTC Wireless Code.”
Rob notes on the legacy $7 iPhone value pack which includes Visual Voicemail, and with this increase will jump to $10 per month in February.
“I only kept the value pack for Visual Voicemail,” says Rob, who emphasized he “may just drop it out of principal”, as most of the time his voicemail doesn’t work and is mostly filled with spam.
