
SaskTel continues to share improvements to its 4G network throughout Saskatchewan, as the company reports 20 various projects were completed in July to meet customer demand for improved network coverage.
Don McMorris, Minister Responsible for SaskTel says “SaskTel has a long record in pursuing innovative and cutting edge solutions when it comes to expanding our 4G network across the Province.”
Below are the 20 sites where enhancements took place:
- Regina: installed rooftop antennas on the SaskCentral Building along Albert Street and on the Terrace Rooftop on Broadway, a stealth pole at Imperial Park along Broad Street South, a stealth pole at the corner of 9th Avenue and Courtney Street and numerous improvements to LTE infrastructure throughout the city to increase coverage and capacity
- Saskatoon: added stealth poles in the Briarwood and the Dundonald areas, a rooftop antennae to Ellis Hall in the University Hospital area, LTE and UMPTS microcells were activated near the Shaw Centre and numerous other improvements to LTE infrastructure was made throughout the city to increase coverage and capacity
- Esterhazy: Replaced a repeater to increase capacity at the K2 Mosaic Mine site
- North Battleford: Replaced a repeater to increase capacity
- Wilkie: added a sector carrier to increase capacity
- Unity: added underlay to an existing tower to increase capacity
- Greenwater Lake: added underlay to an existing tower to increase capacity
- Shell Lake: added underlay to an existing tower to increase capacity
- Chitek Lake: added capacity with a carrier addition
- Elk Ridge at Waskesiu: erected a new tower to increase capacity and coverage
- Grenfell: erected a wooden pole to increase coverage and capacity
- Estevan: erected new stealth poles in the city`s south end and on Victoria Avenue to increase coverage and capacity
- Weyburn: added capacity with five carrier additions at the Exhibition grounds, on the hospital roof, and on other existing SaskTel infrastructure
- Craven: added a sector carrier to an existing tower increase capacity
For the month of June, SaskTel previously announced 13 sites received network enhancements.
