SaskTel Launching Internet in Resort Village of Candle Lake in 2020

Those in the Resort Village of Candle Lake in Saskatchewan will soon get SaskTel Internet, according to the company.

SaskTel announced this morning it plans to expand its DSL internet to Candle Lake in 2020, with contraction set to begin in the spring of next year and completed “before the end of summer.”

The expansion of DSL internet in central Saskatchewan is thanks to a partnership between SaskTel’s Community Participation Program and the Resort Village of Candle Lake.

“Today’s announcement is yet another example of SaskTel’s commitment to delivering their advanced and reliable communication services to all corners of our province,” said Don Morgan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel, in a statement. “I also applaud the people of Candle Lake for taking a proactive approach to work with SaskTel to bring internet service to their community.”

When DSL internet construction is complete, two SaskTel plans will be available: interNET Extended 5 and interNET Extended 10, with plans offering download speeds of up to 5 Mbps and 10 Mbps, respectively.

“Their substantial investment in our community provides a very important piece of local infrastructure and as more people frequent our beautiful village, often opting to make Candle Lake home, they can rest assured that they’ll have reliable communications services available to them,” added Borden Wasyluk, Mayor of the Resort Village of Candle Lake.
