Freedom Mobile Testing LTE Network in Medicine Hat, Nanaimo, Prince Rupert
Freedom Mobile has announced it is testing out its LTE network in new markets ahead of expected summer launches in select cities in B.C. and Alberta.
The company sent out a tweet this morning to say, “Our network is now being tested in Medicine Hat, Nanaimo and Prince Rupert. We’re getting closer to offering residents in these cities a new choice in wireless. Stay tuned for launch details.”
Currently, the Freedom Mobile website lists “summer 2019” launches for its LTE network in the following cities:
- British Columbia: Prince Rupert; Prince George; Kelowna; Cranbrook; Nanaimo
- Alberta: Medicine Hat; Lethbridge
Freedom Mobile says, “an additional 1.3 million Canadians will get access to wireless from us in 2019,” regarding LTE network access.
Customers can sign up on the Freedom Mobile website to get special launch offers, which have been discounted plans as we’ve seen in the past.
The wireless carrier’s parent company, Shaw, announced Q3 earnings this morning, detailing net profit of $229 million, while Freedom Mobile gained 62,000 net wireless subscribers.
