Shaw has launched BlueCurve Network Security for its internet customers powered by McAfee, to protect against online threats.

“Help defend your network and devices from online threats like hacks, ransomware and vulnerabilities. BlueCurve Network Security is an easy-to-use cyber security service that protects your network and your family’s smart devices, at home and on-the-go. You can stream securely, browse wisely and binge-watch safely with the peace of mind that you’re protected,” explained an email sent to internet customers.

BlueCurve Network Security offers protection for your home network for up to 10 devices, at the cost of $6/month, which includes anti-spyware and anti-virus, ransomware protection, remote access protection and network-wide safe browsing.

Shaw’s website touts BlueCurve Network Security as more advantageous than Telus’ recently launched Online Security powered by Norton, at the same price of $6/month (Norton 360 Basic), as latter entry plan lacks protection for up to 10 devices, remote access protection and network-wide safe browsing.

Shaw says its McAfee Internet Security Free plan, is available free with any internet plan and can protect up to 5 PCs against “malicious online threats.”

Setup of BlueCurve Network Security takes place within the BlueCurve Home app and is powered by machine learning and AI to automatically block online threats and suspicious activity.
