Telus Appoints Doug French as Chief Financial Officer

Telus has announced today that it is has appointed Doug French as Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer. Effective today, French will replace John Gossling, who has been the carrier’s CFO for three and a half years.

Grossling is leaving Telus to “seek other opportunities”, the press release reads. He held senior roles at Rogers Communications and was CFO of CTVGlobemedia before joining Telus. French and Grossling will work together until the end of May to ensure an effective transition of responsibilities.

“Doug French has the breadth of experience necessary to help drive the continued success of TELUS’ proven strategy, and to play an integral role alongside our executive team in enhancing long-term shareholder value,” said Darren Entwistle, President and CEO. “Doug is a strong leader with an unwavering commitment to helping the TELUS team pursue our multiple growth tenets while continuously realizing enhanced operational effectiveness and efficiencies.”

French has 30 years of experience in financial management and has been with Telus for 20 years, holding key roles as Controller for the company’s largest business units in the business and consumer divisions, and more recently serving as Corporate Controller.
