Telus-owned Public Mobile is offering a promo in Quebec, offering its $30 plan with 2.5GB of 3G data, available for $28 after a $2 AutoPay discount.
The plan for the rest of Canada is normally $30 but only with 500MB of data, plus a bonus 1GB data and 500MB for setting up AutoPay, for a total of 2GB data. So it looks like Quebec gets a tiny bit of extra data here.
The plan includes unlimited Canada-wide talk and unlimited international SMS/MMS. Coupled with the small amount of data, these prepaid plans are for people who rarely use their smartphones.
The Public Mobile 3G network is essentially the Telus LTE network but with speeds throttled, offering up to 3 Mbps download.
Those signing up under a friend with Public Mobile can also get a $10 bill credit as well.
