Public Mobile to Credit Back Customers U.S. Roaming Add-Ons Due to COVID-19

Telus prepaid brand, Public Mobile, has announced it will be providing credit back to customers who purchased U.S. Roaming Add-Ons, as part of the company’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligible customers are those “who have purchased and used any US Roaming Add-On from March 13 to April 30th, 2020. Note that usage of a US Roaming Add-On is mandatory,” explains Public Mobile.

The company says account credit will be automatically applied within 7 business days of usage, starting March 23, 2020, and a text message will be sent to inform it has been applied.

“At Public Mobile, the health and safety of our customers, team members, and partners are paramount to us. That’s why, with COVID-19 concerns top of mind and rising uncertainty surrounding the extent of disruptions to day-to-day activities for our customers, we will be committing to make it stress-free to stay connected with friends & family,” said Public Mobile.

Telus and its subsidiary Koodo are already waiving home internet data overages for customers, while also waiving wireless roaming fees for Easy Roam and pay-per-use customers.

Most Telus, Koodo and Public Mobile stores have closed across Canada, to limit interactions dude to COVID-19.
