Public Mobile Fixes Incoming Text Message Bug for US Roaming Add-On Customers

Telus’ prepaid brand, Public Mobile, has announced it has fixed a bug where incoming text messages would not come through for customers.

The issue affected those who had purchased a U.S. Roaming Add-on, as they were unable to receive text messages for up to 24 hours after the add-on had expired.

“Our team has successfully identified, implemented, and tested a solution, which was deployed on January 27th. Customers who have purchased a US Roaming Add-On since then should experience no issues receiving text messages once they return to Canada,” explains Public Mobile.

The issue affected Canadian customers returning back from the United States, as they were not receiving text messages back home. Reaction from customers on the company’s online forum was positive, as this bug was apparently in place for over three years.

“So glad to hear that a fix has been implemented it has a been a LOOOOONG 3 years waiting for this!!” wrote user ‘ShawnC13’.

“We want to thank everyone who flagged this issue to us and for your patience as we worked towards a solution. We are continually focused on improving the reliability of our systems as well as your experience,” said Public Mobile.
