Telus BYOD Customers Can Now Activate New SIM Cards Online

As noted by MobileSyrup, Telus has started offering bring-your-own-device or BYOD subscribers the option to activate their SIM cards online, no longer requiring these customers to go visit a retail store or dealer. Telus will also now ship SIM cards directly to BYOD customers through the mail.

As soon as the subscribers sign up for a new in-market plan online, they will be shipped fully activated, ready-to-use SIM cards by the Vancouver-based carrier. Customers just need to insert these new Telus SIM cards into their unlocked devices.

If customers want to port their numbers over to Telus, that will be possible through My Telus online.

BYOD subscribers who activate online have a benefit as they are not charged activation or connection fees, which come in at $35 per line.
