Telus has updated their Optik TV app for iPhone and iPad, bringing a new design which the company says “offers easier navigation and discovery.” There’s also a new redesigned app icon as well.
The new app also now lets parents control access per device, while there is now integration of Rotten Tomatoes scores “and more”. Users will require their Telus My Account username and password to log into the app.
The Optik TV app lets users watch on demand shows and movies, which also includes live news and sports, depending on your cable package. The app is limited for use in Canada only and AirPlay is “not supported due to content provider restrictions.”
For those looking to watch live TV, it requires access within the home and a Telus Internet connection.
Update: Telus has officially announced the new Optik TV app, which will let users access up to 185 channels in home and 155 on-the-go, which the company says “is the most live TV channels available on mobile devices in Western Canada.”
“We’re constantly evolving Optik TV to provide our customers with enhanced viewing options that suit their lifestyle and put them in control of when, where and how they want to enjoy their favourite content,” said Blair Miller, Vice-President, Products & Content at TELUS, in a statement issued to iPhone in Canada.
The Optik TV app is available in B.C., Alberta and Quebec in English and French, and requires iOS 10.0 or later.
