TELUS Wireless Service Now Live on Highway 33 Between Kelowna and Beaverdell

TELUS has announced as part of its ongoing partnership with the province of B.C., wireless service is now available on Highway 33 between Kelowna and Beaverdell.

Two sites are now live, with the first along a 10KM stretch between Daves Creek and Big White Road, while the second site is between Carmi and Beaverdell, roughly 22KM of coverage.

“Highway 33 is a major route that connects communities across this region and travellers expect wireless service,” said Steve Thomson, MLA for Kelowna-Mission. “This new cellular service will help improve the safety of travel along the Highway 33 corridor and access to 911.”

TELUS signed a 10-year Connecting British Columbia agreement back in 2011 and these wireless updates are part of that partnership. Once completed, over 1,700 kilometres of highway will be connected with wireless service.
