In response to Telus recently reducing their promotional Smartphone plan by $5/month to $55/month, Virgin Mobile has now done the same.
Effective today, Virgin Mobile has reduced their $60 Smartphone plan to $55/month. For reference, the plan is detailed below:
- Minutes: 200 daytime
- Evenings/Weekends: Unlimited @ 6PM
- Data: 1GB
- Promotions: Unlimited Text/Picture/Video messages, Unlimited International Text messages, My10 Canada-wide
- Note: The plan is only available to new Virgin Mobile customers
The plan is available on a monthly, 12-, 24-, and 36-month agreement, but for promotional pricing on an iPhone 4, a 36-month agreement is required.
On a feature basis, the Virgin Mobile plan offers about the same value as the Telus $55 Smartphone plan.
