Amazon Names Victoria “Canada’s Most Romantic City” for 7th Straight Year [LIST]

Amazon has again released their annual list of “Canada’s Most Romantic Cities”, as part of a lead up to Valentine’s Day and to promote the company’s Valentine’s Day Store.

For the seventh straight year, British Columbia’s capital, Victoria, has been crowned the “most romantic”, based on sales data of cities with over 20,000 residents and their purchases of romance novels (both print and Kindle editions), romantic comedies, relationship books, jewellery and sexual wellness products.

Amazon says Victoria was ranked first in all five romance product categories, while Kelowna, Oakville, Vancouver, Langley and Burlington returned to the top 20 list after an absence over the last few years.

Earrings made up 50 percent of jewellery purchases on Amazon.ca and were the most popular gift, with Victoria, LaSalle, and Fort McMurray taking the top three spots with the most purchases in the jewellery category.

The most popular romantic movie for the second year in a row was the popular ’90s film, Pretty Woman.

New to the list this year include Bowmanville, Aurora, and Port Coquitlam.
