These Nest WiFi routers and points are the second-generation versions of the Google Wifi, while the latter also is compatible to expand your mesh network at home.
Nest WiFi essentially makes for easy home networking, as updates and optimization happens automatically in the background, while also offering detailed parental controls per device. Nest WiFi Points also act as a speaker and are powered by Google Assistant, if you want the feature (there’s a switch to turn off the mic).
The Nest Router and two Points will cover a home up to 5,400 square feet (500 square metres), and supports WPA3 encryption. The Router Wi-Fi standard is AC2200 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 4×4 (5 GHz) and 2×2 (2.4 GHz), while the Point Wi-Fi standard is AC1200 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 2×2 (2.4 GHz/5 GHz).
A comparable mesh Wi-Fi system is the Amazon-owned eero Pro 3-pack, which costs considerably more right now at $679, because it’s not Black Friday.
